Review guidelines
Reviews on BuildGib are public. They should help other users understand what happened on a real job without crossing into defamation, privacy misuse, or abuse. If a review cannot be published safely, it should not be posted publicly.
What a review should cover
- Your own first-hand experience with the business.
- Clear details about the job, timing, communication, price, workmanship, or aftercare.
- Facts you can support and opinions that are clearly framed as opinions.
- Only one review per user per business, with reasonable edits inside the edit window.
What not to post
- Anything false, misleading, fabricated, copied, or posted on someone else's behalf.
- Threats, harassment, hate speech, abusive language, blackmail, or attempts to pressure a business into refunds or discounts.
- Private personal data, including phone numbers, private email addresses, home addresses, invoices, signatures, identity documents, or information about children.
- Public accusations of crime, fraud, theft, discrimination, regulatory breaches, or unsafe conduct. Send those concerns to BuildGib privately with evidence instead of putting them in a public review.
Images and supporting material
- Only upload images from a job you are allowed to share.
- Do not upload screenshots of private conversations unless every person shown has consented or the image has been properly redacted.
- Do not upload images that reveal payment cards, invoices, IDs, signatures, faces of children, or private access details.
How moderation works
- Reviews require an authenticated account and remain reportable after publication.
- BuildGib may hold, unpublish, edit formatting, request evidence, or remove content where there is a legal, privacy, authenticity, or safety concern.
- Businesses may reply publicly but cannot change a user's review.
- Repeated misuse of the review system can lead to account restrictions or removal.
Serious allegation workflow: if you need to report fraud, theft, violence, discriminatory conduct, unsafe work, or another issue that could expose someone to civil or criminal liability, do not put it in a public review. Send it to BuildGib privately so it can be assessed with context and supporting material.
